Nov. 27th, 2018 02:32 amSpoonflower has extended their Cyber Monday sale through... actually, I'm not sure! I got the email on the 27th saying it was extended, but the fine print at the bottom still says the promotion runs until 11:59PM on the 26th. So I guess it's extended for as long as their website says and could end at any time?
In other news, my biggest sellers are my full-sized confetti prints. While I still want to focus on making those hard to find teeny prints for good doll clothing, I also need to try to make an income here. So I'm wondering... should I offer matching 1:1 versions of more of my 1:6 prints?

Nov. 26th, 2018 05:04 amOk, I have absolutely no excuse for 2017, but 2018 was an absolutely horrible year all around. With it out of the way I really AM going to try to get back on the ball with this! I have a lot of fabrics I haven't posted pictures of, some actual sewing with them I hope to do, and a quick heads up that Spoonflower is having their Cyber Monday sale: 10% 1+ yards or meters of fabric, rolls of wallpaper and gift wrap.

Spoonflower just added a new cotton spandex jersey, and like with the sports lycra, they're celebrating by offering free swatches! Here's what the newsletter had to say.
"Get your free swatch of our newest soft and stretchy fabric, Cotton Spandex Jersey next Thursday, January 21st, 2016 from 10AM EST until Friday, January 22nd at 10AM! Start planning your projects now!"
So, there's less than a week. Keep in mind, these are printed swatches, and you can pick what pattern you'd like... so if you want to try any of my playscale prints in a stretch fabric that should be fairly well suited for doll clothes, here's your chance to do so for free!

New fabric swatches, part 1
Nov. 4th, 2015 03:36 pmOk, so I finally got the most recent batch of fabric swatches, and it's taken forever to get all the pictures done and everything else. But here goes!

The most recent additions on Spoonflower
Oct. 7th, 2015 05:25 amNo, I'm not dead, just very distracted lately. Too many things to do, not enough time. Anyway, sharing pics now of the most recent additions to Spoonflower while I try to come up with two more ideas to fill a swatch batch of 30 for the next lot.
First is an on-black version of my confetti print that I picked up on sports lycra when they had a free swatch deal. Cindy's holding it here.

And the other is a teeny Harlequin print that turned out to be even smaller than I expected it to be! I got it on the polyester Crepe de chine, so it's going to make a great blouse or scarf or something dressy. Here's Meri showing it off:

Now if I can just finish up the swatch book, I'll have all kinds of things to show off... plaids and ginghams and polka-dots are on the way!

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up. Spoonflower has added a new sports lycra fabric to their lineup, and as a promotional thing they're offering a free swatch of it (with free shipping), printed with whichever design on the site you want.
Yes, I know most of mine are bandannas so far that wouldn't be so great in shiny stretch, but I DO have a neat little confetti print that might make a cute stretchy dress or bikini! Plus, hey, it's a free bit of fabric big enough (swatches are 8 inches square) to possibly do a little something with, whichever pattern you choose.
They're only doing this until noon their time tommorow (US Eastern Time, apparently), so I thought to give everyone a heads-up while it's there. (Hopefully it applies to everyone and isn't a special designer promo, though it doesn't seem to be.)
And, yes, I already ordered mine, and am additionally using it to proof a black-background variant of the confetti print mentioned. :)
